Assembly & first ride

Follow the supplied instructions or emails to check the carton, frame and components, both tyres and rear derailleur area. Photograph visible damage or displaced parts and contact us before assembling or riding if something looks wrong. See our arrival guide for the full checklist.

Courier-delivered bikes arrive approximately 85% assembled. Depending on the model, you may need to fit or position the handlebar, front wheel, saddle or seatpost, pedals and reflectors. Follow the instructions for your specific bike in our assembly guides. Bikes collected in Brisbane are fully assembled by default.

Every bike needs a safety check before its first ride. If you assemble it yourself, we recommend having a local bicycle shop carry out a safety check before riding.

Visit our assembly guides for videos and manuals, and follow any model-specific documents supplied with your bike. If you cannot find the right instructions, contact us with your bike model before proceeding.

If you assemble the bike yourself, we recommend a local bicycle shop safety check before riding. Whether assembled by you or a mechanic, complete the first-ride safety checklist. Check brakes, wheel security, steering, pedals and tyres, and confirm the gears operate correctly. Do not ride with loose parts or a fault.

Pedals are side-specific: match the L and R markings and never force the threads. Check fork orientation and cable routing against your instructions. Wheels, the handlebar and stem, pedals and seatpost must be correctly secured using the applicable instructions and torque specifications. If you are unsure, stop and contact us.
