Choosing a bike

Find a bike that suits your size, your riding and your budget.

Size & fit

What size bike do I need?
Start with the Size Guide on the product page for the bike you are considering. Wheel size alone does not determine fit. Our Wheel Size Guide explains 27.5-inch and 29-inch options. If you are between sizes or still unsure, contact us with your height and the model you are considering.
Are wheel size and frame size the same thing?
No. Wheel size describes the wheels; frame size and geometry affect how the bike fits you. Two bikes with the same wheel size can fit differently. Check the specific product’s Size Guide rather than choosing by wheel size alone.
Should I buy a bigger bike for my child to grow into?
Choose a bike your child can control comfortably now. They should be able to reach and operate the brakes and safely start, stop and get on and off. An oversized bike can be difficult to handle. contact us with their height and the model you are considering if you need help.

Choosing the right features

What should I think about before choosing a bike?
Start with where you will ride, how often, your height and your overall budget. A bike for everyday paths and trips may have different priorities from one intended for off-road riding. Check the model’s intended use; suspension alone does not make every bike suitable for every trail.
Which specifications should I look at first?
Start with fit and intended use, then compare the frame, brakes, drivetrain and fork. Look at the actual component models rather than just the number of gears. Our first mountain bike buying guide explains what these specifications mean.
Can you help me compare two bikes?
Yes. contact us with the models, your height, where you plan to ride and your budget. We can help explain the differences and what matters for your riding.
